Darwin's Tag

This is the first time I have ever done a post on our blog. I guess Jen has just always done an awesome job so I left it to her. Jason tagged me (Darwin) though, so I need to accomplish it.

Here are the rules:
1. link to the person who tagged you.
2. post the rules on your blog.
3. write six random things about yourself.
4. tag six people at the end of your post and link to them.
5. let each person know they’ve been tagged and leave a comment on their blog.
6. let the tagger know when your entry is up.

Random things about me:

1. I love being a Dad. There are hard times and I would never say that there isn't, but for the most part I love it. I love when Jensyn's and Hurley's eyes light up when they see me. I love playing with them and teasing them. I worry that some day they may not like me for whatever reason though.

2. I have road rage. I hate when people don't go the speed limit or also on the freeway when people don't get out of the way when you are clearly wanting them to. Also when the road has been widen, but there is still only two lanes, people drive where there isn't a lane, just more pavement. Drives me crazy!!!

3. I really enjoy a good can of Coke. Especially when it is partially frozen so the carbonated water is "chunky" that is probably my favorite drink.

4. I have a hard time keeping a secret. I either drop lots of hints or outright tell someone because I can't take the pressure.

5. I love the scriptures yet I have a hard time sitting down to read them. I love how I felt on my mission when I read them everyday. I really enjoy the book of Alma when the sons of Mosiah and Alma the younger go around preaching the gospel and telling each other of their success. I do wish that I would just read them everyday, but I have a hard time reading anything, reading isn't my thing.

6. I have a hard time with the whole global warming story. I truly believe that we need to take care of our earth so that our kids and grandkids have a nice place to live. But at the same time I know that God put things on the earth for our use and advantage. I think that we should recycle and do what we can. But I think it is rediculous that cities that provide recycling containers but then they charge you a monthly fee for it! Everything that they recycle you can take to a recycling center and you will GET money and not get CHARGED to recycle.

I tag
1. Cameron and Nicole Staley
2. Sean and Kim West
3. Barrett and Lauren Batchelder
4. Dwight Parker
5. Michelle Buck
6. Carol Olsen

Tag, I'm it!

I was tagged by my sister-in-law Crystal to do this. http://tcmckellar.blogspot.com
I like tags, since I learn something new about each person as I read the tags.

Here goes, six random things about me:
1: I have (or get) buyer's remorse. I feel guilty when I buy things (even if I need them). I like to know the return policy of the stores that I am shopping at. I will buy something and worry about it for days. (Like tonight I bought groceries for book club and I feel like I didn't get good enough deals and that I spent too much.)

2: When I am stressed out I can't sleep. Last week my sleep schedule was CRAZY. One night I finally got into bed at 5:00 a.m. I worry about a lot of things. I used to (in the very recent past) ask Darwin if he was sleeping (which he always was). I wish that he shared some of my concern.

3: I like to read-most of the time. If I am not "captured" with the story by 1/4 of the way in, I don't finish reading it-not worth my time.

4: I need a lot of validation.

5: I love Root Beer. This started when I had Hurley. I drank RB and water a lot. Now I want a Root Beer everyday. I love the smell and taste. I love it, I love it, I love it.

6: I don't like Vicky on the Biggest Loser: Families. I think she is a very mean spirited person. I feel sorry for her kids.

Wii Played and Darwin's Birthday

On Saturday night we went to Dawin's parents' house to play the Wii. It was so much fun. We played tennis, bowling (everyone's favorite), golf, and boxing. We tried a new game that we got at Blockbuster. It was Wii Music and it was LAME. We had dinner too that Alan cooked. I think that everyone had a good time. Hopefully we can play again soon.

Here is CUTE Hurley. He was happy just to watch.

Delaney and Kian taking a break from the games and playing with toys.
Kian and Delaney boxing and the rest of us watching.

Darwin and Jensyn waiting for their turn.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARWIN
Darwin just turned 26! We had a fun day. Darwin asked for his presents at midnight! I gave him two. I wanted to save some for the daylight. Jensyn gave him a Willow Tree figurine called Father and Daughter, Hurley gave him one called New Dad, I gave him a CD, Coke, and Mugs that can be frosted (he has asked for them since we went to Las Vegas in the summer). We went a bought pants that he needed so bad (thanks Nancy for the money$$$), got a few things for dinner (chicken enchilladas), and stopped at Darwin's parents' house. After dinner while I watch The Biggest Loser, Darwin and Jensyn went to get Mario Kart for the Wii-something that we did not need (thanks Adele and Grandma Tanaka for the money$$$). Jensyn put 26 candles on the cake, she did not spread them out evenly though-glad that nothing started on fire!

Right after he made a wish and blew out the candles-holy smokes!
Jensyn is happy to help and she LOVED eating the frosting!!!!

Time: 12:15 a.m. Jensyn and Darwin (he was emotional so she started to cry too.)
Happy or sad? Maybe both.

Happy Birthday Darwin, I love you!

My Super Man!!!!

Last night we went to Darwin's parents' for dinner and they got out the outfit that Darwin came home from the hospital in when he was born. We put it on Hurley and he filled it out!

Hurley is such a happy baby (and that makes me a happy mom!!!). I love his smile, it is so contagious. I wish that we had this outfit a few weeks ago, cause then Hurley would have been Superman for Halloween.

The back (I think the whole thing is very cute).

He sucks on his fist all of the time. We tried and tried to get him to take a binkie but had little success. Oh, look at those cute brown eyes.

My two Super Men!!! I love them both!

Jensyn's Book

**Remember to pause the music at the bottom**

Jensyn got this book when we were in Arizona. She has it memorized and she "read" it to Hurley. "Old truck, new car, red truck, blue car, shiny and bright, dull and brown, day on the highway, night on the town, dirty car, clean car, nice car, mean car, drive fast fast fast, drive nice and slow, cars ride high, cars ride low, tires are big, tires are small. piles of tires short and tall, wheels rolling on the ground, cars and trucks drive all around, beep beep." We think she is something else!

Halloween Festivities

I feel like I have been slacking a ton with my blog. Last week we were so busy and had so much fun. On Wednesday night we got together with some high school friends at Cami and Rob's house. We had a blast. Some of us are married, some, not, some have kids, and others do not. I think that we all blended well though. It was fun to watch our kids play together. We had soup and breadsticks and of course dessert. Cami made little pumpkin Jack-O-Laterns for the kids to decorate with candy-such a cute idea.

We had a fun night. I do wish that more girls would have been able to make it. It was fun to catch up with everyone there. Thanks Cami and Rob for letting us come to your house!
Now on to the next thing....HALLOWEEN!!! We went Trick-Or-Treating at Lee's Marketplace. This was so nice. Most of the cousins on the McKellar side were able to go (Logan is too far on days like these...)
The guy in the back is Charlie Brown and he had an enormous head. I wanted Jensyn to get a picture with him but of course she wouldn't.

Hurley (who seems to be sleeping in most pictures), Jensyn, and Darwin

Me and Scooby Doo

Hurley getting some Zzzz's as we walk through the forzen foods.

Waiting to start...Nicole, Knox (?), Payton (knight), Morgan (witch), Hayden (Superman), Jordan (teenager), Boston (ninja), Jensyn (Scooby Doo), and Hurley (Horse)
Missing: Sierra, Mialee, and Nikell

Then after Lee's we headed to the Treehouse. Darwin still had not been and I wanted him to see why I love it so much. Jensyn played and we participated in a sing-a-long.

Waiting for the singing to begin

Playing with trains

Climbing the stairs in the tree, to go down the slide.
Halloween night we went to see Darwin's aunt Michelle, The Thackers, and Great Grandma Parker. Then we went to Ashley and Dwight's to go trick-or-treating with them. We even stayed the night and I wonder why we have not done this before. I really am so glad that all of the girls get along so well.

Jovie (Dorothy), Quincie (Ariel), Kaylder (duck hunter), Jensyn, and Ashley (present)

We had a very busy Halloween and the days leading up to it. I do think that holidays are so much fun with kids. I love being a mom. I am grateful for my sweet kids and all of the people that we were able to spend time with.
I did sort Jensyn's candy........and Quincie sorted her own (FYI, Darwin).
