Darwin's Grandpa Parker

George and Donna Parker with Jensyn after her baby blessing.
September 2006

Sadly on Wednesday morning Darwin's Grandpa Parker passed away suddenly of a heart attack. The news was very shocking and I think we are still trying to get used to the idea of his passing. His funeral will be Monday, February 25th. Here is the link to his obituary in the Standard Examiner. http://activepaper.olivesoftware.com/Repository/ml.asp?Ref=U1NFLzIwMDgvMDIvMjIjQXIwMTkwOQ==&Mode=Gif&Locale=english-skin-custom

Thanks for voting

Last week, while I was at my mom's she asked me if I listened to Bob Lonsberry. I told her "no". She seemed quite surprised by my response. I told her that I didn't think a lot of people did listen to him, let alone know who he is. (My only knowledge of B.L. is from my mom otherwise I would have asked "Who?" to her original question.) So thanks for voting. As you can see from the results of the poll the majority of people that responded marked Who. My mom put the same poll on her blog and had the same results....

Tag! I'm It.

I have been tagged by Chelsea...
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning
B: Each player answers the questions about themselves
C: At the end of the post, the player then tags 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.

10 Years ago today...I was in 9th grade at Wahlquist Jr. High. I think that I was the typical 9th grader. I enjoyed school a lot. I really liked hanging out with friends. I think that I was always with Pam Parker (Winegar) and Kara Clark (Hansen). I remember always talking about boys. Things seemed so dramatic in 9th grade. Wow, what lame problems.

I Enjoy: reading. I think that anyone who knows me would agree. I love when I finish a book. It feels like such a great accomplishment. I try not to bore Darwin with the details of the book that I am reading but sometimes I just want to share my thoughts. On my blog I am keeping track of the books that I read this year. I am also in a book club and I LOVE IT!!!! It is so fun to get together once a month with girls that I love and talk about books, eat dinner and dessert, and just hang out. (If any of you are interested in joining let me know.)

What would I do if I were suddenly a billionaire? Travel. I would love to see the world. I really like vacations. I love to get away from "real life". Of course I would do all of the expected things with money. But for sure travel.

3 of my bad habits:- Who wants to admit this information???? Ok #1 Darwin gets home from work around 3:40 pm and some days (more often than I am willing to admit) Jensyn and I don't get ready until right before. I want Darwin to think that I have been dressed and ready to go for a long time but the truth is I usually put it off as long as possible.
#2 I HATE that I do this. But I gossip a lot.....From now on I am going to try to be kinder....enough said.
#3 I love a clean house but I do not enjoy cleaning. You all know someone (maybe it is you) that claim that they love to clean. Well this is certainly not me. I wish it was. I wish that my house was clean all of the time. But sadly I would rather read, play with Jensyn, work on crafts, or watch TV than clean.

5 places I have lived:
North Ogden, UT
Clearfield, UT
Plain City, UT
Ephraim, UT
South Ogden, UT

5 Jobs that I have had:I worked in the concession stands at the Weber County Fairgrounds,
I was a receptionist at my dad's dental office, I was a math grader (and tutor) at Snow College, I was a dental assistant for an endodontist, I am a mom.

5 things people don't know about me: This is hard because I am pretty much an open book.
#1 I am totally intrigued by crimes that go unsolved. It amazes me that people can get away with things. Not the gross crimes like murder and rape, etc. But like robberies (I love all of the Ocean's movies) those are the kind of crimes that I am talking about.
#2 I think it is amazing when people lose weight and keep it off. I get excited when people realize that they need a lifestyle change and do it. I love the show The Biggest Loser. I am so impressed!
#3 Answering questions during a lesson at church totally intimadates me. I get nervous because there are a lot of smart people out there that know a ton about the gospel. So it is easier to not ever answer at all.
#4 I wish that I loved to run. My whole family (excluding my husband and dad) are planning on running a marathon in the fall. I would like to do it, but since I will have just had a baby it really is not a good idea. I want to run next year. My brother Jason has this schedule to help you train for a marathon. So after this baby is born I am going to run because I would love to run a marathon. (Who knows how good I will do?)
#5 I usually don't like what I order at a restuarant. I take forever to order because I like to read all of the descriptions of the entrees. But ususally I want what Darwin gets even if it sounds gross when he orders it. Normally my food gets taken home in a to go box and then Darwin has it for lunch the following day.

Snow Snow Snow

Jensyn happy as can be to be outside. Look how much snow there is!
A picture of our mailbox. I hope the USPS doesn't get mad and stop delivering our mail.

I know that I am saying what a bunch of you have already said...But can you believe all of this snow? We are running out of places to put it when we shovel/snow blow. I really am shocked. I am not a huge fan of the cold to begin with, but this is unbelievable. I hope that it makes for a wonderful summer with green lawns that we will be allowed to water.

After I had Jensyn, Darwin and I agreed that he would be allowed to name the next baby that came along (at the time it seemed like a silly agreement because I did not plan on having any more kids). Since I am pregnant now and we just found out it we are having a boy I have been bugging Darwin to pick a name. I like to be able to refer to the baby with a name and not "baby". Well Darwin informed me yesterday that he picked a name!!!!! He has chosen Bitner Darwin Parker. I am quite excited. When I was in college at Snow I took an institute that was on the current leaders of the church. I learned that President Hinckley's middle name was Bitner. I loved it immediatly. When I was pregnant with Jensyn we had discussed the name Bitner for her if she was a boy. Well, with the all too recent passing of President Hinckley I asked Darwin about the name Bitner again. He said that it was a possibility. Well that is the name of our soon to be baby boy. Sorry for all of the details.

I'm 25!!!

I know that it is soooo lame that I am writing about my own birthday, but I asked Darwin if he would, and he responded, "The blog is your thing." We went to Sacrament Meeting today. It was cut short due to the snow. Later we are going to our good friends the Birds to watch the big game. I get to share my 25th birthday with the Superbowl....blah blah blah. I am not a football fan at all. Thank you to all of you that have wished me a happy birthday.
