FUN DAY

Today Jensyn and I met my friend Kristen and her little girl Ella for lunch. We ate at Wendy's in Layton. It was so busy and we had talked about getting our food and then going to the park to eat it but Jensyn wanted to eat inside so we did. After lunch we went to the Layton Park and fed the ducks. The girls loved giving the bread to the ducks. Ella calls them "quack quacks"-super cute. Jensyn did not want to be in the wagon. She is so independent. After all of the bread was gone, thanks Kristen for bringing it, the girls played on the toys. It was such a nice day. It was fun to do something out of the ordinary too.

Big Baby!

Just a quick baby update...at my last appointment (2 weeks ago) my doctor told me that the baby is measuring BIG. My official due date is July 22nd but according to the most recent ultrasound my baby is 3 weeks and 6 days ahead of schedule (if that even makes sense). So I am planning on having my baby (that still does not have a name-even though I am trying so hard to get Darwin to agree on the name Luke) anytime in July. The baby's head is big-after the doctor measured the head he looked at Darwin and said, "Well, I know where the baby gets his big head from." Darwin just smiled proudly. Anyway, I have another appointment in a few weeks so I will let you know.

Happy Mother's Day

I just got this email. I think it is so true. Happy Mother's day everyone!

Before I was a Mom-I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby. I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous. I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on. Pooped on. Chewed on. Peed on. I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts. I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom-I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests. Or given shots. I never looked into teary eyes and cried. I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin. I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom-I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down. I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt. I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much. I never knew that I could love someone so much.I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom -I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body. I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby. I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child. I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom -I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache,the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom. I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

I have noticed on other people's blogs lists of words that their toddler uses. I think it is a grand idea to keep track of what is being said. Darwin and I started making a list over a week ago and since then Jensyn has started speaking in sentences. I am amazed by how smart she is and how quickly things change.
