Thanks for voting

Last week, while I was at my mom's she asked me if I listened to Bob Lonsberry. I told her "no". She seemed quite surprised by my response. I told her that I didn't think a lot of people did listen to him, let alone know who he is. (My only knowledge of B.L. is from my mom otherwise I would have asked "Who?" to her original question.) So thanks for voting. As you can see from the results of the poll the majority of people that responded marked Who. My mom put the same poll on her blog and had the same results....

Too bad people do not know who Bob Lonsberry is. Listen 5-9 am weekday mornings and 7-9 am on Sundays at 570 am---KNRS-Family Values Talk Radio. He usually is right on with the same things that I think. Every once He disagrees with me. Glenn beck can also be found at 570 KNRS. Try it, you might become a fan of talk radio.

Bob Lonsberry is not my cup of tea. Is way to crazy, not to mention is racists comments he has made that got him fired from WHAM in New York. I especially loves how he talks about Utah and how he is an expert on Utah Politics; but he lives in New York. I am not even sure if he was re-baptized after his excommunication, but he says he is LDS and he plays that to his advantage on his show.

Nancy,

Here is the article from Oct 27 2003. He was hired back later, but had to apologize for his racial remarks.

Jen and Nancy,

It is very exciting to see us debate our opinions about BL. This is what makes America so great! We can each have opinions and debate them. However I feel I have struck a chord on BL; so let me clarify my opinion. 1. Bob is not LDS. He says so on his on blog, he admits he was excommunicated and I feel he is at terms with the decision and repentive. To imply this makes him a bad person, is wrong. See link http://www.lonsberry.com/writings.cfm?story=725&go=4

However I feel he does inject is association to the church in some of his commentary to help connect with his audience. This maybe fine for some people, But in general I am not a fan of his comments, remember he is in the entertainment business not the reporting business so he has to do some acting to get things done.

2. He was fired, see link above, he was later re-hired. But the management at WHAM even said that they didn't feel he could change. Has he? Well you guys tell me, I quit listening after that point.
3. You heard that right, I listened to BL! I listened for most for about 1 1/2. I even called in twice (he agreed once, disagreed once). But I have since left the BL fan club.
4. He does live in NY and does talk about Utah Politics. This isn't for me. Any commentary, political or not, can talk about other states and politics. That is fine, but he talks as if he knows how we should live here in Utah. I remember during the Jon Huntsman Campaign as he talked about how people should vote for him. I thought, He doesn't even live here!

5. Lastly, I don't listen to BL, I don't listen to Sean Hannity, nor laura ingram, nor Rush Limbaugh. I listen to everyone at least a few minutes now and then...but I don't base my life on what they say. BL may have a few good comments out there, but they are not for me.

So there you have it, why I don't listen to BL. Thanks!

BenJoe

Thanks benjoe for clarifying. I was hoping that you belived in repentance, and making changes in our lives. I too, listen to him-then sometimes get disgusted with him, then sign off of BL for a while. But when I am up at 5am and sewing-not much else on the radio.
I too have called him a couple of times. If you do not agree with him, he can be not very nice and all too often even rude.
I do not base my life on what he says. But he does get me thinking about how I really feel about things. So maybe that is the part that I like best...I decide what I think and feel about things.
It is great to be an American.

Wow! I like the change. Did you lose anything when you made the change?
